The life of Chuck

This is not a review, and I don't hand out stars either. It is part of my annotated reading list. Whatever first comes to mind when I pick up the book. More about it in this blog post.

A few days ago, I watched The Life of Chuck. It’s a truly unusual film, especially considering it’s based on a Stephen King story. Tom Hiddleston’s dance scene may be what sticks with you, but Mark Hamill as the grandfather is every bit as brilliant. I bought the book right after seeing the film.

The book is just as unusual. It’s only a short story, told in reverse. Stephen King. 128 Great Pages! Thanks, Stephen!1

And there’s one question that keeps rattling around in my head: recently, in the twentieth and final part of my account of my surgery, I wrote about borrowed memories, about that gap in my life. If I have no memories of that time, what were the multitudes in my head doing? Was everything simply frozen? Did it all just wait until I was back?

For now, all I know is that I have a very strong contender in mind for the magic moment this world exists for.
