Note however, that a bug exists in build 128a which renders it unable to install new zones. This is however fixed in build 129: http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=12995
From my own server/desktop: No hickups so far, no instabilities. I had just a problem with some OSOL versions, that couldn't boot on Phenom X4 procs. Nevertheless it's a good practice to have an ear on the putbacks to onnv to see possible probs ...
It depends... There are occasional serious problems not only in dev builds (RAID-Z3) but also in OSOL Releases (CIFS in 2009.6).
If you want latest features you need to test for compatibility with your hardware and needs. Otherwise use Solaris 10. Personally I wouldn't use dedup on production servers yet...
1. You are right, I wouldn't use dedupe as well for production: Dedupe is really new, the bubblewrap just removed. This is the first version after the putback of dedup.
2. I have a test suite for my needs, and i just use a release for more than playing around , when goes through this basic test suite. I think when you use just the matured features, it's safe for desktop and for home server tasks. For production usage, use the official releases like 2009.06 or 2010.x
Upgrade to svn_128 works but i the Gnome Destop Snapshot Management Service returns an error:
# svcs -xv svc:/application/time-slider:default (GNOME Desktop Snapshot Management Service) State: maintenance since 4. Dezember 2009 15:53:13 CET Reason: Start method exited with $SMF_EXIT_ERR_FATAL. See: http://sun.com/msg/SMF-8000-KS See: man -M /usr/share/man -s 1M zfs See: /var/svc/log/application-time-slider:default.log Impact: This service is not running.
You have probably hit this known bug: http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=12948
There is no list of know issues with this dev release on indiana-discuss? Anywhere else?

If by "get rid of the fletcher4 bug" you mean completely get rid of fletcher4 in dedup for now, then yes that's what happened. I'm not sure what the plan actually is for reintroducing it, but the "fix" that was checked in for 6904243 zpool scrub/resilver doesn't work with cross-endian dedup=fletcher4,verify blocks was to just remove the option from zfs set.
