Okay, Apple dropped the ball, but that doesn't mean, that no one else is capable to play it: ZFS for MacOS. At the end ZFS is opensource and it's available with a license compatible (CDDL) to the one of MacOS. So this was an obvious step after Apple's decision.

Very nice. With the Google Code group at [1]. For a moment I thought there were already two groups working on this, but it is nice to see the transition.

And, can you imagine the ruckus if Sun were to post a one-liner when killing a major effort that involves the community? It's amazing how well Apple is being treated by the press (and the Apple fanboys) these days
