Looks nice, but so did T1 and T2.
Hope it's not only the Rainbow that falls.
looks interesting, but no word if the individual cores will be more powerful/faster?! also no info on clockspeed.
why do they write 'strands' and not 'threads' - is there a difference?
Strands is used by the HW designer to seperate them from the SW threads. Strands and HW Threads are the same.
Ach ... der Sun Mitarbeiter, der gekündigt hat lt. einem Kommentar von vor einigen Tagen ... Sie sollten wissen, was der Stand bei Rock ist
Sad to see this presentation about all the problems with doubling the cores when IBM stole the show with all the benefits of improved cores and multiple cores.
I've read both presentations of IBM and i consider them as marketing material, where as the presentation about RF talks about the challenges of a many-core design. And at the end, Sun has solved the problems
IBM will have the same problems soon. And i don't know if you have the presentations of Hotchips, but Power7 is a beast. I see no way that they will be able to manufacture this beast at an other than outrageous price point. At the end HotChips is a technical conference |
