Oracle expects really positive effects

Safra Catz of Oracle is cited at Sun.com with the following words:

"We expect this acquisition to be accretive to Oracle's earnings by at least 15 cents on a non-GAAP basis in the first full year after closing. We estimate that the acquired business will contribute over $1.5 billion to Oracle's non-GAAP operating profit in the first year, increasing to over $2 billion in the second year. This would make the Sun acquisition more profitable in per share contribution in the first year than we had planned for the acquisitions of BEA, PeopleSoft and Siebel combined," said Oracle President Safra Catz.

Hm. There has been enough speculation already about what has got to be done at SUN to raise profits.

Dann frag ich mich, wieso Sun sich so billig verkauft und warum sie es nicht geschafft haben, selbst so profitabel zu werden. Schade!

Das heisst nur das von SUN in Deutschland nicht viel übrig bleibt.
Oracle dürfte kein Interesse an Produkten wie StarOffice und Co haben. 1,5Mrd im Plus? Das hat SUH nicht alleine geschafft und wird Oracle nicht ohne massivste Einschnitte schaffen. Allerdings ist Oracle auch dafür bekannt kaum zimperlich zu sein.
