eLOM to iLOM

There are many people, who donīt like the eLOM of our Intel based x86 servers and want the iLOM of the Opteron servers instead. The cure is near: The eLOM to iLOM migration guide already appeared at docs.sun.com

This is a real annoyance with Sun systems. There are too many different types of management interfaces with each one using their own setup procedures and commands.
This is the reason, why we get rid of eLOM in favour of iLOM for our 4x00 series and blade x86 systems.
I could talk about further (x)LOM directions, but thatīs NDA stuff at the moment.

There is a new download for X4150, X4150 Tools and Drivers CD 2.0, which seems to contain ELOM- and ILOM-firmware.

I don't like eLom either, but eLom is still a lot better than Alom 
But there is one thing I like about Alom: what is really annoying about ilom is the number of messages you get when you reboot a server. Where Alom is just telling me "Host has reset", ilom is informing me about every chipset available on the system board while booting
