Such problem comes when communities are owned by a single person and not by the community itself. Since Blastwave is a company with a single owner it's completly his turn to do what he want. I will hope that both now rising communities will learn from this and do better.
That was not the first time, that Dennis acted this way. I'm with Blastwave since the very beginning and this is not the first time, that Dennis acted this way.
Two months ago, he kicked out Phil without a warning or a notification. Back then, he refused to give the name to a non-profit organisation. What he did not, is definitely too much. Me and many others are not willing to work with Dennis anymore and we are working now to create a new project.
And another one who thinks that dclarke has to blamed for each and everything...
We all like playing pass the buck, don't we?

As a person who is at Blastwave almost since the beginning, I know probably a few things more than you.
Besides that, he was the one who shut down the complete blastwave.org zone and told to the world that the project is frozen. Till now, nobody outside or even inside project knows, why he did that. You can think whatever you want, but it's a fact that this childish act was done by Dennis on not by Phil or any other project member.
well it must've been something very bad, otherwise the person (i.e. dennis) who was part of blastwave since the very beginning (and who's providing hardware/software/time/inet connection/etc. for free to all of you since day 0) wouldn't have pulled the plug...

But even in this case it was really unprofessional to act in this way ...
It was his own decision to provide that all for free. During the last few years, many people offered help for Blastwave.
Perhaps Denis acted rashly, but if Phil and associates have the user community's interests at heart, why don't they open pkg-get and share the release key?
