benchmarketing at its worst (or is it just creative maths with imaginary numbers)
as I used to be an IBM mainframe systems programmer before I started to work with Sun-equipment, I know what the story is: FUD = Fear, dought and uncertainty. A mainframe today can be handled workload-wise by a two-socket system from a vendor like Sun, on a 10th of the cost, a 30th of the power-consumption, but no golf-playing on the weekend with your salesguy.
