This one is hard. As music is an important part of my music and as i'm listening to music almost all the time there are a lot of events with songs connected to it: But one is special because this event is still very clear in my mind. It was on an airport and i got the biggest and most hurting rejection (partly because of misunderstandings) of my life (won't disclose any details). The first song my iPod played afterwards was Nils Petter Molvaers "Song of Sand II". Perfect match. I lost a friend at this moment and the song was the perfect fit to my mood. Additionally i started to think that my iPod has a soul since that very moment

I'm owning a Metabo cut saw for a month or so. When i saw the tag line on the box, i thought that this would be a nice tag line for Solaris: "Work. Don't play". What a pity that this tagline is already in use by a tool company

This one is easy, too: "Careless Whisper" from Sether. When i drove through California with my brother while having the greatest vacation i had so far, this song was on heavy rotation on almost all radio station playing such music. So this song is connected to California in my mind ...

There are many songs connected to persons in my life. So it's not hard to find such a song, but it's hard to choose one of them: After thinking for quite a time about it, my decision is "I grieve" from Peter Gabriel from his 2002 album "Up". It's not one of his best pieces (albeit it's a good one), however this piece always remembers me of the important persons in my life that passed away. I'm glad that i had just to grieve about my grandparents so far. In a strange way, this song is connected with the death in my life, however it's not a song that i would like on a funeral, it's the song for the people that survives a beloved person:

And I can't handle this

This is an easy one ... there is one song that makes me smile whenever i hear it. It's Sebastian Telliers "La Ritournelle":

But it's not just the lyrics ... it the driving rhythm ... it's the easyness of the melody ... this song is like walking at the Elbe at a nice spring afternoon.

Music is an important part of my life. And i'm really interested in the music other people are listening. I think it's really a window to the soul of other people, because music is emotion in a small dose and thus they express emotions of the people listening the music and using the shot of emotion. Thus i really like the idea of the 30-day Song challenge i found in blog of Mrs. Local. Thirty days and each day gives some answers about the music some likes to listen ... or not. When you want to know the answers of this challenges beforehand, just look in the blog article of Mrs. Local

But the answer to the first question is the hardest one of all questions in that challenge ... the favorite song. The answer to this question is a function of t. But at the moment i would answer with "Arcadia (Telefon Tel Aviv Remix)" played by Apparat , you will find on the "Things to be frickled" album. It's a really beautiful song that is deeply moving me.

What's the point of waiting
For life to come
I could go further
And no one's surprised
Your plans collapse, run off or fall apart...

Mike Swingler of Apple announced yesterday, that Apple has started to contribute to the OpenJDK project:

I'm very happy to let you know that today we made the first public contribution of code to the OpenJDK project for Mac OS X. This initial contribution builds on the hard work of the BSD port, and initially has the same functionality. Today's contribution simply modifies the build process to create universal binary, and produces a .jdk bundle which is recognized by Java Preferences and the JVM detection logic in Mac OS X.
