Sillicon Graphics

Damned, Silicon Graphics was one of the companies that delivered dream machines for nerds in the 90ies and owned the media business at that time. Some years ago, SGI was already in Chapter 11 but managed to get out of those problems. But the the results for Q2FY2009 doesn´t look really good.

Revenue for the second quarter was $82.8 million, compared to $92.8 million in the previous quarter and $90.1 million in the second quarter of the prior year. The company's net loss for the quarter was $49.2 million, or $4.24 per share, versus a net loss of $33.7 million or $2.91 per share last quarter and $42.2 million or $3.78 per share in the second quarter of the prior year.

After all i wouldn´t bet on SGI. And to add insult to injury: The business of SGI is largely based on Itanium and the next-gen Itanium Tukwilla was delayed again a few days ago again. I don´t think that SGI liked this message ….
