It´s a thing i will try out in the next few days. Can i use ZFS, iSCSI and Thumper to improve the already excellent SamFS HSM filesystem? Can i solve the problem of migration in storage media life cycle managment en passant?

I hate the big discussion forums at IT news sites. They are full of trolls. My favourite trollishness at the moment is the comment "The X4500 is fucking expensive. I can build one of my own for 10 grands". Okay, let´s talk about this statement.

Enterprise Networking reports about our new server offerings and headlines: Trio of Servers Put Sun "Ahead of the Curve."
"None of these products are commodity offerings, they're top-of-class offerings. Sun is ahead of the curve," Jonathan Eunice, analyst with Illuminata, told internetnews.com.
The blade system is absolutely different from what HP and IBM are doing; this is a full bore data center play without any compromise.

On Jonathan´s weblog you find two interesting facts: An image of the Thumper beast and by the filename the name of the system was somehow announced by Jonathan: Sun Fire X4500 (the file is named X4500_lowres.1024x768.jpg)
