Hello.
This may be a mistake for drive ssd38 (instead ssd28) server1 /scsi_vhci/ssd@g6001438005de946defa2000000020010 (ssd38): because below you wrote another drive ssd28.
It was just an example ... the devices mentioned in logfiles were manifold.

(ok, S9Y seems to have an issue with comments containing angled brackets.. grml)
... With a boatload of error messages containing a WWN and fibre path, how can any sane admin reach this conclusion?! SCSI transport errors on a fibre device almost always indicate a bad cable/transceiver.. or in very rare cases, the controller on the storage. Back when I was a storage admin, I had a nice and easy way to monitor for degrading cables.. pull the port status from the switches each night via an Expect script, grep the results for the RX power values, and alert when a port drops below a certain value (IIRC, something around 300µW was when our Brocade switches started to get unreliable readings...)

Honestly? Don't know .... and will not speculate about it here.
When i worked as an admin (or later project engineer) i closely monitored kstat even for slight increases in error counts. The author does not allow comments to this entry
