I have it from a good source that Intel once had a product where they had a better margin than the US mint with their bank notes - i.e. it was better than printing money.

Okay ... after the lawsuit filed by the New York State Attorney, there is another legal problem for Intel: The FTC sued Intel for anticompetitive tactics. You will find the press release as well as the complaint at the FTC website.
