just their fear about the combined Oracle and Sun.
As soon as the EC has approved the aquisition, a couple of companies will have fun and customer will see how much sense this makes
This, from the same Maureen O'Gara who was in SCO's pocket during the SCO / Novell litigation? The same Maureen O'Gara who attempted (but failed) to slander Pamela Jones of Groklaw?
Her anti-Linux, anti-IBM bias is well documented, therefore I wouldn't lend much credence to anything she writes. The fact that you've chosen to quote her here significantly detracts from the quality and creditability of your blog.
I just quoted her to show that i'm not the only who suspect one of the big guns behind this delay. So at least i'm not that paranoid to be the only one.
Of course i have to admit, that this quite ringing at the name in my head didn't get through, wanting to say me that the name is quite prestressed. I assume my brain was to slow because of the short night and long day ... Credibility of this information... don't know ... maybe in the same range like the rumours that Oracle will sell of hw to HP The point after all is: At the end the information isn't that far fetched to dismiss it as untrue. I think there are some companies seeing Sun/Oracle as a big competitor . When this investigation has closed it would be nice to know why the EC believes that Mysql and Oracle are competing products. As i wrote in my article: IBM is top on my list, two other names look relastic enough that i would bet a smaller amount of money on it to hedge some losses.
Nothing, just pointing out that Maureen is most likely a shill who's commentary is dubious at best.
There is nothing wrong with it.
But Ron is correct ... the name O'Gara is somewhat prestressed and a red rag in the community due to her role in the SCO/IBM lawsuit. Nevertheless i wouldn't totally dismiss the article of her, as the rumour would match in the complete view of the situation. |
