Glenn Brunette explains in his blog how to encrypt swap with the help of the LOFI devices. This solutions provides such neat things like an ephemeral key for encryption. The encryption key for the swap is just valid for the current boot. Whenever you restart the system the encryption will use a new key. You will find a tutorial and the nescessary scripts in Glenns blog.

PS: Of course this method isn´t a supported one ....

still waiting for the real thing, i.e. zfs-crypto...

reading http://blogs.sun.com/darren/entry/encrypting_zfs_pools_using_lofi I had the impression that zfs-crypto would hit OpenSolaris at build 116, "but the ZFS crypto source is already at build 116. Once the /dev repository catches up to 116 (or later) then I can put ZFS Crypto onto my laptop"

but sadly, there was nothing about zfs-crypto in the changelog http://dlc.sun.com/osol/on/downloads/b116/on-changelog-b116.html

I don't think that zfs-crypto is going to be integrated into snv_116. I think that Darren means that his current zfs-crypto code is based on snv_116 so this version is needed to use it.
