Still wondering, why Sun isn't publishing SPEC SFS97 results for the 7410 http://www.spec.org/sfs97r1/results/sfs97r1.html
Because SFS is largely a nonsensical benchmark ... Bryan Cantrill wrote a great article about it: http://blogs.sun.com/bmc/entry/eulogy_for_a_benchmark
I wonder if this product is another stab in the dark for Sun. Given its track record of dead storage offerings, I wonder what the lifespon of this product will be before a user is forced to do a data migration.
I suspect one of the reasons Sun doesn't do a Spec benchmark is because it can't compete in performance. |
