There is a new version of the SunCAT short before it´s release. SunCAT is an extremly useful tool to analyse Solaris Crash Dumps. A few things were changed in Sun Crash Analysis Toolkit 5.1 in comparision to the last version:

Solaris 2.4, 2.5, and 2.5.1 Support removed
FMRI Reporting
Solaris Volume Manager Scans for Active Data Set

It isn´t available for Download at the moment, but Dana Fagerstrom (the author of the linked blog article) thinks it will be available on February, 15th.

BTW, SolarisCAT is nice, if you don't like mdb, give SolarisCAT a try for kernel crashdump debugging

You are right ... you could find out all this stuff with other tools, but it´s much more comfortable this way
