Offline Google Mail via Google Gears

Techcrunch reports about the availability of an offline version of Google Mail. Nice ... really ... but what happened to IMAP and the IMAP client of personal choice? I thought, "offline mail service" was a problem solved in in the last century ...

Naja, die Qualität der Mail Clients scheint eher abzunehmen...
Und Clients die wirklich imap koennen gibt es vl 1-2. Das Interface bei gmail ist schon nett, aber naja, "meine daten, mein server".
Wenn mann dann noch PGP macht, faellt Webclient eh flach. Da brauchts auch noch was anstaendiges.
