The Intel iSCSI Remote Boot Setup Utility is for Server NICs only, so this can not be used to replace a hard disk in a media center PC.

I´m not really convinced about the usage of iSCSI for MediaPC, escpecially under the consideration that you would need a multiple-reader/multiple-writer filesystem to access it from the MediaPC and a Laptop or other media terminals in parallel . NFS and CIFS are much better choices for that task.

I´ve reported back in August that the case for iSCSI boot was approved by the ARC. The PSARC 2008/427 (iSCSI Boot) and PSARC 2008/640 (iSCSI With DHCP) cases had their flag day yesterday for the build 104 of Solaris.
