I find your blog useful and informative to read, but your reasoning behind buying a POS Volvo for "City Assist" is ridiculous. As far as it being heaven-sent well I nearly fell off my chair laughing. I think when you are this stage you should give up your license and use nice beige Mercedes Taxis. Still a brilliant Blog but its an awful car.
Hey, mostly i hit the cars of people starting to drive when the traffic light gets green but stop half a second later with a full stop. Mostly no problem ... but sometimes you are out of luck. And those moments ruined my car insurance rebate for damage-free years
BTW: I really don´t like driving on my own .... driving in german cities or german highways got a really annoying experience ... i prefer train, planes and ... yeah ... taxis ...
I have just got back from driving in Germany, in fact I go most years with my Kaefer or my 914, driving in German Cities and highways is great, people drive with their eyes open. Unless of course you are trrying to get to the museum in Sinsheim where everybody is looking at the Concorede on the roof rather then where they are going...
The A1 is just horrible ... the same for the A7 near the big cities. And the most problematic issue is the sheer number of trucks. Especially this ones, who go to the fast lane without looking for the traffic.
