In order for Boeing to retract their submission it would require a drastic change in the specifications in the RFP, further if Boeing believes that the Procurement dept. has rewritten the specifications to justify their awarding of the contract to Airbus/NG then none of this will go forward.
The GAO will not allow this to happen, the American congress will not allow this to happen under law!!!!! The Air force changed the specifications to cover up their mistakes in the first RFP, by allowing a larger aircraft that was not allowed under the original RFP, the GAO said very clearly that no points were to be allowed because the AB/NG was larger, now the Air force has rewritten that clause. This whole thing reeks of fish, somebody is getting paid off!
I donīt think this smells fishy.
1. A bigger tanker was allowed in the second RFP. It just didnīt got more credits. The Air Force prefers bigger tankers, so it clarified this task in the third RFP. 2. Perhaps the proponents of Boeing should accept, that there is a situation, where Boeing donīt have product, whereas the competion can deliver one. Thatīs business. Sometimes you win, some you lose. Live with it ... And at the end: Boeing should talk about fishy proposals after their behaviour in the first RFP made it necessarry to repeat it. Or is fishy leasing deal already forgotten by most US people? |
