... and in contrast to Apache it has a servlet engine (like Tomcat) that is included. It also has a better threading model. No MPM configs and the like. In many many cases it is a better alternative. Of course, not in all cases.
with the choice of a bsd license, there's a good chance some of its ideas could be used to improve apache.
