I have downloaded OpenSolaris. The pre-install thingy says that there are no drivers for the network card on either my laptop or PC.
It seems that Sun have not learnt the lesson from the pre-Linux, Solaris 8 x86 days when things were just the same. For this Open Solaris / x86 thing to gain any type of momentum there has to be working drivers included with the install process otherwise it's just not going to happen.
What network card do you have? I had no problems with various brands of Intel, NVidia and Realtek based cards or interfaces ...
