In "Democratizing Storage" Jason writes about his opintion of ZFS and the usage of ZFS at his employer digitar. It´s really positive. You can summarize the article at best with the following quote:

When it comes to storing data, you’ll pry OpenSolaris (and ZFS) out of our cold dead hands. We won’t deploy databases on anything else.

Gibt es inzwischen eigentlich offiziellen Support für Oracle on ZFS mit Solaris (non Open) .

Solaris 10 ist ja Oracle zertifiziert. Also müsste ja ZFS auch zur verwendung erlaubt sein. Oder etwa nicht?

Oracle zertifiziert AFAIK keine Filesysteme. Aber installieren wuerd ich es trotzdem nur mit Vorsicht (oder mit einem groesseren L2ARC. Zwei Komponenten, die gegenseitig meinen, besonders intelligent bei der Speicherverwaltung zu sein ... das kann nur zu Aerger fuehren.

Das Schoene bei UFS ist ja, das man es fuer Oracle so konfigurieren kann, das es ausm Weg bleibt.
