Okay, this was a rather long tutorial and i didn´t even talked about the configuration of tape devices. As i told you before: Only the toes in the atlantic ocean. But i hope, i gave you some insight into a somewhat unconventional topic and a capability of an optional part the Solaris Operating Environment. I assume, with the opensourcing of SamFS we will see a much more widespread use of it.

Seeeehr schöner Artikel.

Ich habe mich in der letzten Zeit (nach langer Zeit mal wieder) mit HSM und den aktuellen Lösungen am Markt beschäftigt, bin aber zu keiner passenden Lösung gekommen. Mein Kunde brauchte zwingend reines NTFS, da seine Applikation einige Sauereien mit NTFS Streams macht. Da hilft mir zwar kein SamFS, sieht aber trotzdem hochgeradig spannend aus. Wieder ein neues Spielzeug auf meiner "Play"-List.

Hi,

mich interessiert ein Vergleich Venti SamFS.

Der Hauptunterschied duerfte sein, dass bei Venti
keinerlei Daten als geloescht markiert werden.

Und bei Plan9 gibt es keine Sockets, wie wuerde man die im Text erwaehnte Orakel

Backup Loesung dann stricken?

Braucht man dann einen 9p Proxy?
