The away-from-keyboard syndrome

When you have a root server, there is a really basic rule: The farther you are away from a keyboard, the higher is probability of a problem with your root server. I had 3 webserver crashes yesterday. Well, i´m in the process of installing the new server at the moment, so the instabilities should go away soon.

Just put of pure curiosity, do you know the causes for the crashes ?

Too much traffic ? Bad sever ... ?

The fcgi-server dies under load. Exact cause unknown. But it happens mostly at times with high spam load.
