Ahem.
I thought it was about a "Workstation" (jokes about "A bus station is where a bus stops, a train-station is where a train stops, a workstation..." aside). Instead, I read "mini ITX", "Celeron", "SiS". Bah! I found a Dell Inspiron 521 (DC-Athlon 5000) that some dealer was selling on ebay with a better graphics-card (GF-7300), so I could use it on my 24' Dell. I added the recommended Dlink wireless card and 2 additional GBs of RAM and had a decent Solaris Workstation that is actually fun to use and silent enough so that it doesn't drive you crazy. Install of SXDE went to smooth it was actually frightening. Rainer
I posted it not because of the technical point, it´s the fact that such articles starts to appears that is more interesting.
SXDE easy to install? You´ve ain´t seen nothing ... SXCE b70 with the "Dwarf Caiman" installer ... that really smooth |
