At last: the first alpha version of smbfs was dropped to opensolaris.org. With smbfs you can mount shares from CIFS fileservers (Windows/Samba).

Yipiiieeh! Darauf haben wir wirklich lächerlich lang gewartet. Bravo, endlich kann man ohne third party software ein CIFS share mounten. Es erleichtert das Leben ungemein, da die meisten Kunden es erstmal nicht glauben wollten."Wie, smbfs kann man nicht mounten?"

Gut möglich, der Aktienkurs hat sich auch in zwei Jahren fast verdoppelt und stand unlängst auf dem Langzeithoch von 6,64$.

Hoffentlich gibt es auch ein paar Entwickler, die SAMBA stabil mit ZFS ACLs zum Laufen bringen, das wäre doch etwas wichtiger als smbfs.
