Well, we really need a better name for our new 10GB-NIC. I would suggest: Mindblazingly effective NIC or cmtNIC, because it brings similar concepts into the NIC sphere. The Inquirer describes:

What you end up with is a NIC that uses tons and tons of threads to make sure the port itself is never idle, or at least never is waiting on the NIC to send data out. Instead of making it smarter to manage a single stream better, Sun made Sx8ED10GEFXFPLPA able to handle multiple streams to there is always something to stick in the pipe.

At the end it seems to have a name finally: "Sun Multithreaded Networking Card"
PS: I have an inkling how it will be called internaly. After the name of the driver and the amount of ports. Like usual ...

nein, eigentlich dachte ich eher an eine Kombination aus Niagara und NIC... warum soll Niagara nur parallele CPUs bezeichnen?
