Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 out now

Adobe released the first version of Lightroom. I´ve used Lightroom from time to tome, but it didn´t made it into my primary photopraphic toolset, as i wanted to wait for the first pricing information. I didn´t wanted to get dependent to a tool without an announced price. Adobe Tools are not really cheap. But 199$ is a really reasonable price for this application.

Apple's Aperture 1.5 is also an excellent offering. Granted Apple's product at $299 retail(which can be found for ~$260) is probably why Adobe is offing Lightroom at the $199 price. Each program has their pros and cons, though I've preferred to go the Aperture route due in large part to MUCH better print production.

Hi Jörg, what's your favorite toolset (esp. for RAW development)? I prefer Lighroom Beta over Aperture, Lightroom Beta(!) runs a lot smoother on my MacBook than Aperture 1.5.2. And i prefer the option to leave my pics on original storage location (Aperture puts that stuff into a database).
