also ich finde 80 cores mit je 20MB SRAM extrem beeindruckend!
Das ist beim Register missverständlich geschrieben:
In Intels Pressemitteilung ((http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/20060926corp_b.htm) steht:"The second major innovation is a 20 megabyte SRAM memory chip that is stacked on and bonded to the processor die. Stacking the die makes possible thousands of interconnects and provides more than a terabyte-per-second of bandwidth between memory and the cores." Also nur insgesamt 20 MB auf zwei Dice. Das finde ich nur maessig beeindruckend, da sie dank ihrer Itanium-Monster das Know-How haben sehr viel Cache on-die zu bauen. Und die Dice-Klebetechnik scheinen sie ja schon bei Kentsfield verwenden zu wollen. |
